The Department of Respiratory Medicine, Fukuoka University Chikushi Hospital provides a wide range of diagnoses and treatments for all kinds of respiratory diseases, such as lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), asthma, and respiratory tract infection. The diagnostic services include roentgenogram, high-resolution computed tomography, spirogram, and bronchoscopy (transbronchial biopsy, endobronchial ultrasound and bronchoalveolar lavage). Several doctors are board certified specialists of Japanese Respiratory Society, Allergy Society, Society of Respiratory Endoscopy and Association for Infectious Diseases.
